Martin Guitars and Eastman Strings donated two fine instruments to help fund our educational programs. We are auctioning the instruments through a silent auction opening Wednesday February 3rd and running through auction close at 8:30pm Eastern Standard Time on Saturday, March 20.
We have posted several short videos on YouTube that highlight past performances from prior festivals. Check out clips with Joe Val and the Bluegrass Boys, Blue Highway, Chris Thile, The Steeldrivers, and more!
Every year 10,000 patients need a marrow transplant using blood stem cells from a matching unrelated donor. At this year’s festival, learn how you can save life by visiting the Be The Match registration tables. Becoming a marrow donor involves only paperwork and a cheek swab sample. You have the power to heal, the power to save a life!
The 2010 Heritage Awards will be prsented at the festival. This year we honor the founders of Rounder Records (Ken Irwin, Marian Leighton Levy and Bill Nowlin), th band White Mountain Bluegrass, and former Joe Val bandmate Eric Levenson.
This year we will again have a great selection of instruments, accessories, instructional materials, historical and contemporary bluegrass photographs, books and other bluegrass related items available for sale in the festival’s Vendor Expo.
Aspiring musicians age 5-17 take instrument workshops from professional musicians Friday evening to Sunday morning, and then perform on the main Stage Sunday at 12pm. A great learning experience for all!
