Saturday, May 3rd- BBU Springfest 2008. Help the BBU wrap up our 32nd concert season (and celebrate Bluegrass Music Month) with a family friendly event at the Second Church in Newton. Picking Party starts at 5 PM, Potluck Dinner at 6:15 PM (for those that bring, of course!) and Performances at 6:30 PM until 10 PM. Featured bands include Back Eddy Bluegrass and Pine Hill Ramblers, plus a short performance from the BBU's Kids Academy. Lots of fun and we hope to see you there. Every spring and fall the BBU hosts a regional band showcase, potluck dinner, and picking party at the Second Church at 60 Highland Street, West Newton, MA. Picking party starts at 5pm and potluck dinner starts at 6:15 pm, and the band showcase begins around 6:30pm. If you plan to have dinner with us, bring something to share. BBU will also have beverages available. You are also welcome to bring a donation for the Newton Food Pantry. Admission is $6 per person ($1 off for BBU members), children under 12 free. Open mic sign ups will be from 10AM to 10:30 AM . The program will be from 11 AM to 1 PM. The jam is currently being held in the lobby inside the Main Entrance at MASS MoCA (the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art) 87 Marshall Street, North Adams, Mass each Saturday morning from 11 am to 1 pm.
