The Boston Bluegrass Union is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to promoting and preserving bluegrass music in New England through concerts, festivals, workshops, jams, and other events. We are always looking for volunteers to help in many different ways. Here are a sample of possibilities:
- helping out at concerts (selling tickets and refreshments, ushering, green room hosting, etc.)
- helping out at the Joe Val Festival (see below)
- becoming part of the “street team” that help promote our events (posting flyers in music shops, contacting radio show hosts, getting events into local calendars and papers, public relations, etc.)
- organizing, hosting, or helping out at jams, workshops, and other educational events
Got an idea for an event? Want to help organize one? We’re also looking for entrepreneurial types to create new events and programs, or become responsible for managing existing events and activities.
You can get involved by emailing [email protected] . Let us know what you like to do, and we’ll find a way to get you involved.
Volunteering at the Joe Val Festival
As you might expect, we need an army of volunteers to make an indoor festival like Joe Val a successful event. There are tons of possibilities – ticket and t-shirt sales, door monitors, workshop monitors, and several other roles.
The link below will take you to the Joe Val volunteer page, where we have a special application form for that event.
