Bluegrass Band Scramble at Concord Conservatory of Music on January 25

Is there a budding stage musician inside you? Have you ever dreamed of standing on stage with people you didn’t know two hours before, playing bluegrass in front of tens of enthusiastic fans? (Dreams have to start somewhere.) The Bluegrass Band Scramble may be for you! Reserve your spot with 2 easy steps – Registration links coming soon, stay tuned! Please reserve your spot and pay in advance ($35). Yeah, we know you’ll understand that we have to cover our costs: January 25 Complete the short registration form in advance: January 25 registration form. Tell us your name, contact information, and your instrument so that we can place you in a band. If you’ve ever played in a jam session, or if you can play three chords in rhythm, come out and try your hand. Musicians enter the Scramble individually, and bands are created by picking names out of hats for each instrument, so bands have the tools they need. You and your new bandmates will have a two-hour practice session with CCM instructors’ coaching to prepare songs and stage patter for a three-song turn in front of a live audience and with a professional sound system. The Scramble is purely for experience and enjoyment. There’s no competition, and there are no prizes, just the chance to meet up and perform with other musicians from the area and try your skills in front of an audience. Come out and have fun! Formed in 2014 in the Smoky Mountains, The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys take pride in being ambassadors of their genre, bringing their music from rural bluegrass festival stages to the rock clubs of Europe with stunning results, now coming to Concord Conservatory. Beginning Bluegrass Jamming Class (for all bluegrass instruments) -- Saturday, February 1st from 1:30 until 8:30 pm (dinner included) -- learn to jam on singing songs you may have never heard before -- the 7-hour-long class includes a catered dinner at 5:30-ish -- visit bluegrasstuesdays.com/about.html for FREE parking info -- this class will prepare students for most beginner/slow jams -- this class will include multiple opportunities to jam, especially later on -- $145 tuition includes handouts, MP3s, and a catered dinner Contact Tony Watt to enroll.

3rd Friday Jam at PCA

Featuring, but not limited to Bluegrass music Bring your Guitar, Banjo, Fiddle, Bass, Dobro, Harp (all types), mandolin, bones, etc.. and come and enjoy a night of great music. The Parish Center For The Arts (The PCA). 10 Lincoln Street Westford, MA PCA is a BYOB facility, so feel free to bring snacks, a bottle, whatever! Please bring whatever you need, and be sure to police up everything when we go. I ask you to leave no trash, garbage, bottles, cans, etc behind. There are chairs and tables as needed. This is a pass-the-hat event, with proceeds going to the PCA to offset the cost of our usage. Welcome to players of all skill levels and audiences alike. Free parking Monthly on 3rd Fridays, 7-10pm

Backbeat 4th Thursday Jam – Beverly

Backbeat Brewing 31A Park, Beverly, MA

7-9:30 pm every 4th Thursday at Backbeat Brewing in Beverly, MA. Join us the 4th Thursday of every month to listen or play! All levels welcome. Our first jam in May was a big success with over twenty players jamming in the restaurant and out on the patio. Lively bluegrass filled the air and judging by the hearty applause, everyone loved it! The Backbeat menu feature two dozen delicious beers on tap, and the kitchen cooks up tasty thin-crust pizzas (including a gluten-free option) and various appetizers. Backbeat is located at 31 Park St (just off Rantoul), directly across the street from the Beverly Depot train station. There is plenty of on-street parking. OTAF Old Time Jam at Lily P’s

Growing out of the success of Bluegrass Tuesdays, Lily P's is now home to a new weekly night of traditional music in Cambridge every Thursday. Old-Time Almost Fridays, named in part because we're just so excited that it's almost the weekend, aims to bring the Lily P's magic to the Old-Time community.  The night will include performances and multiple jams hosted by many talented Old-Time musicians. Old-Time Almost Fridays are hosted by Tony Watt and held at chef Chris Parsons' restaurant Lily P's Fried Chicken & Oysters in Kendall Square in Cambridge. Feature band is at 7 pm then hosts a jam at 8 pm Hosted Jams in the Dining Room: Beginner friendly jam 7:30-8:30 Intermediate Jam 8:30-9:30

Tuftonboro Country, Bluegrass and Gospel Jam session

The Old White Church, Center Tuftonboro, NH

The weekly Tuftonboro Country, Bluegrass & Gospel Music Jam Session continues at the historic Old White Church of Center Tuftonboro every Tuesday from 6:30 until about 9:30 pm.  Fans of country, bluegrass and gospel music are invited to enjoy an evening of music. There is no admission charge, a donation is requested to help cover operational expenses.  The Church is located on Route 109A, just across from the Tuftonboro General Store & Post Office.  Everyone is invited to attend the jam session while enjoying cookies and a cup of coffee.  For more info call Joe at 569-3861.
