Come on over\, kick back\, and enjoy the tunes!\n\n\n\nFree admission for all – donations accepted. DESCRIPTION:The Whately Old Time Jam takes place each month on the third Tuesday from 7pm-9pm-ish\, unless there is a special event preceding the jam such as workshop. We gather in Whately Town Hall Audititorium in Whately\, Massachusetts.\nThis is an Old Time jam\, keeping to tunes and songs in the Old Time repertoire. Speed and tunes will be up to those who attend. We’ll go round the circle so everyone can choose tunes and pace. Old Time chestnuts\, waltzes\, obscure and/or crooked tunes\, tunes that don’t resolve\, tunes with questionable chords\, tunes with weird numbers of A/B/C/D/E parts – all welcome if someone can lead it.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for an afternoon of workshops\, dancing\, music\, and family fun as we celebrate the launch of new Expanded Education Contemporary Musical Arts (CMA) classes for kids and adults. \n3:30 PM | Concurrent Activities \nSlow Jam / Intro to American Roots Music (JH 367) \nJoin multi-instrumentalist\, composer\, traditional musician\, and new Expanded Education faculty member Noah Fishman for a welcoming jam session and an introduction to American Roots Music. The event is open to all ages\, instruments\, and experience levels; children must be accompanied by a parent. This free gathering is open to everyone. \nFamily / Play-Party Dance \nEnjoy joyful dances and play-party games for parents and kids of all ages — from babies in carriers and toddlers finding their steps to older siblings\, teens\, and adults. The session is taught by Eden MacAdam-Somer and Will Mentor and features live music. DESCRIPTION:The Concord Bluegrass Band is an intermediate level ensemble\, ideal for folks who are looking to play bluegrass music in an organized band setting. This ensemble experience will hone in on each instrument’s role as a member of a bluegrass band and give folks the opportunity to sing and pick their favorite bluegrass standards. The course will culminate in a short performance. Let’s pick!  \nParticipants should be familiar with several songs tunes in the style\, play their instrument at an intermediate level\, and hold their own in a jam session. If you’re unsure whether this class is a good fit\, please email Student Services Manager Emma Huggard with a description of your background and we’ll help you.  \nThis is open to all voices and acoustic string instruments. In keeping with authenticity\, the ensemble will fit no more than two of any instrument with an overall capacity of 6 members.

DESCRIPTION:For many years\, the Fiddle Hell Massachusetts Festival has been a yearly gathering of fiddlers\, cellists\, mandolin & guitar & banjo players\, and singers to meet\, jam\, learn\, listen\, and have fun. It’s both friendly and diverse\, and covers many traditional musical styles. This year\, it’s Nov 13-16\, 2025\, in Westford\, MA\, at the Westford Regency Inn & Conference Center. \nAs a registered attendee\, you’ll have an amazing choice of 300 workshops\, 20 concerts\, and 40 artist-led jam sessions. Teaching at Fiddle Hell is primarily by ear although sheet music is sometimes available. There are many informal jam locations in the hallways.
