DESCRIPTION:Old Time Jam hosted by Betsy Green first Tuesday of the month.\n\n\n\nCome be part of The Word Barn’s monthly old-time jam session!\n\n\n\nAll levels and all instruments are welcome.\n\n\n\nBring your banjo\, fiddle\, guitar\, mandolin – or whatever old-time acoustic instrument you have – and spend a few hours playing along with fellow musicians of all skill levels and backgrounds.\n\n\n\nHeld every first Tuesday of the month. On warm evenings\, we’ll circle up in the Meadow around the campfire; on cooler evenings\, we’ll be cozy inside The Word Barn itself.\n\n\n\nDon’t play an instrument? Come on over\, kick back\, and enjoy the tunes!\n\n\n\nFree admission for all – donations accepted. Registration requested (space is limited).\n\n\n\nAfter catching up\, sharing a pint (or two)\, and choosing a key\, the music will begin\, with a last call for tunes coming around 8:45pm.\n\n\n\n\n\n**Please note and watch the calendar – Old-Time Jam session dates are subject to shift from the 1st Tuesday as needed due to holidays and conflicts.\n\n\n\nSpecial thanks to the NH State Council on the Arts. DESCRIPTION:Each month on the Second Tuesday at Toad/McCarthy’s \nThe Flat Earth Rounders are an omin-trad genre-fluid old timey stringband led by bandleader Zach Meyer. Propelled by Zach’s deep-seated and universal connection to roots music of all kinds combined with his ability to play whichever instrument is most fitting\, the Flat Earth Rounders repertoire spans a wide variety of roots music deep cuts ranging from Appalachian fiddle tunes\, to Cajun dancehall classics\, to 1930s clarinet rags\, and more!  \nBacking Zach are a rotating cast of local all stars\, including Erica Weiss\, Oliver Strand\, Rachel Rosenberg\, Riley Mullaney\, Ben Wetherbee\, and Dan Bui. Together\, the crew is heralding a Boston-based revival of the 1980s Seattle folk revival\, preserving the music composed and recorded by luminaries such as Jack Link\, Hank Bradley\, Mark Graham\, the Hurricane Ridge Runners\, and Zach’s own father\, Bill\, while adding their own modern twist.

It was placed there because of his other accomplishments—the Grammy awards\, the worldwide tours\, and the many other accolades he’s earned through his music. But for Carter\, joining the legendary names honored on that stretch of highway just might mean the most. “There’s a certain sound that’s up there that you just don’t hear anywhere else\,” he says. “I think that played a big part in how I sound today.”
