Twilight Music continues its 12th annual Twilight On The Tavern Lawn series of folk, world beat, rock, jazz, zydeco, Celtic, swing, blues and bluegrass summer concerts on Sunday, August 10 with newgrass and contemporary folk trio The Stockwell Brothers.  The seven concert series continues every other Sunday through August 24.  All concerts begin at 6:00 pm in downtown Putney on the Putney Tavern lawn (bring a lawn chair or blanket) or at Next Stage at 15 Kimball Hill in case of rain.  The series is sponsored by the Town of Putney, Soundview Paper Company, Next Stage Arts Project, The Stockwell Brothers and many other Putney businesses and organizations.  The concerts are free to the public (donations are accepted) and food will be available.  For more information, call 802-387-5772 or visit www.twilightmusic.org. Bruce, Barry and Alan Stockwell's music spans traditional and progressive styles, but their trademark acoustic sound features new singer/songwriter material recast with banjo, alternative rhythms and three-part harmonies.  They cover straight ahead bluegrass songs, finger picked acoustic guitar ballads, full tilt breakdowns and traditional mandolin tunes mixed in with more unusual fare - Americana melodies riding world beat grooves and Celtic, jazzy, even neo-classical instrumentals. Featuring 2005 Merlefest bluegrass banjo contest winner Bruce Stockwell, The Stockwell Brothers have performed alongside artists from Bill Monroe, Doc Watson and Earl Scruggs to Mary-Chapin Carpenter, Jonathan Edwards and Asleep At The Wheel, recorded with Mike Auldridge and Phil Rosenthal of the bluegrass supergroup The Seldom Scene, and toured throughout the United States and in Canada and Europe.  As a trio, they have released two albums, Stobro and Leave My Dreams Alone.

Moreland and Arbuckle

StageOne 70 Sanford St, Fairfield, CT

MORELAND AND ARBUCKLE DETAILS on StageOne Thursday, August 14th Doors @ 7:00 PM Show @ 7:45PM GENRE Rock / Roots / Blues / Garage   Moreland & Arbuckle dig their blues up straight from the dirt. They bring it Gritty and fuzzed out with home made cigar box guitars and a wall of sound you'd never expect from a duo. Guitarist Aaron Moreland and Harpist/Vocalist Dustin Arbuckle met at an open mic in Wichita Kansas, and began exploring their mutual fascination with American music. They combined their taste for roots music with a penchant for harder edged rock. Bands like Black Sabbath and and Led Zeppelin informed their approach to traditional American blues music. The result is a distinctly sludgy delta sound with bits of soul and country flair thrown in the mix. They took their show on the road with legendary players like Robert Cray, Buddy Guy, and Steve Cropper. They even played for a stint in Iraq, entertaining our troops over seas in 2008. Now with the addition of drummer Kendall Newby they're taking to the road yet again.
