SUMMARY:Della Mae at Crystal Ballroom
DESCRIPTION:Della Mae at Crystal Ballroom – Somerville\, MA\nwith Rachel Sumner \nEach generation\, perhaps once a decade\, bluegrass experiences a band or an artist that redefines and recenters the genre itself. Della Mae is one such band. \nThe GRAMMY-nominated string band was founded in 2010 and over the next decade and a half they’ve demonstrated to the roots music world\, once and for all\, that a band of all women is not\, nor has ever been\, a mere novelty. They remain at the forefront of the explosion of women instrumentalists and all-women acts in roots music and their impact is striking and measurable – not just in North America\, but around the globe. \n55 Davis Square Somerville\, MA

SUMMARY:Eugene Tyler Band at Lizard Lounge
DESCRIPTION:Eugene Tyler Band returns to the Lizard Lounge for their latest album release with Stillwater April 2nd! \n\n\n\n\nIndie-bluegrass trio Eugene Tyler Band is\, at their core\, a road band\, who’ve spent years cutting their teeth on the bluegrass festival circuit and clubs across the northeast. Their newest record\, Low It Goes\, captures the free-wheeling intensity of those live shows and showcases the cathartic\, irreverent songwriting that has won them fans all over the country. As songwriter Eugene Gardner says\, “You learn a lot about yourself as a band when you’re playing 3 hours a night\, and it’s forced us to step up our game in a way that I’m really proud of.” Sharing stages with bands like The Kitchen Dwellers\, Driftwood\, Mountain Grass Unit\, and Town Mountain\, ETB has carved out a unique voice in the bluegrass scene\, with cutting\, often humorous songs\, and a fast & loose approach that calls back to influences like the Clash and Drive-By Truckers. \nEugene Tyler Band \n\n\n\n\nStillwater is a bluegrass sextet founded in 2023 on the banks of the Stillwater River in Old Town\, Maine. Stillwater features Trip Nickel (guitar)\, Yoni Musher (mandolin)\, Kiera Luu (double bass)\, George Horvat (fiddle)\, Noah Vaughn Jackson (banjo)\, and Jack Pasternak (dobro). Stillwater incorporates modern renditions of traditional American folk and bluegrass tunes with contemporary jamgrass\, respectfully exploring their creative freedom within the wide world of improvisational music and songwriting.

SUMMARY:Tony Trischka's EarlJam featuring Michael Daves
DESCRIPTION:Tony Trischka is considered the consummate banjo artist and perhaps the most influential banjo player in the roots music world. For more than 50 years\, his stylings have inspired a whole generation of bluegrass and acoustic musicians with the many voices he has brought to the instrument. \nTony will be honoring the music of Earl Scruggs\, pioneer of the three-finger banjo style and one of the most important musicians in bluegrass\, or\, in Tony’s opinion\, in any genre. Trischka recently came into possession of extremely rare recordings of jam sessions with Scruggs and John Hartford\, and he has transcribed and recorded Scruggs’s note-for-note solos from a number of these…many songs that Earl had never recorded. His latest album\, EarlJam: A Tribute to Earl Scruggs\, was nominated for a 2025 Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album and features some of the biggest names in bluegrass. “Earl is my North Star\, a lifetime pathway”. \nOpening for Tony will be Farayi.
