DESCRIPTION:All pickers\, singers and Bluegrass fans are invited to join us on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of every month at Backbeat Brewing in Beverly\, MA.  The jam starts at 7pm and runs until at least 10 (usually ends closer to midnight!) \nThere is plenty of on-street parking. (Meters run to 8pm in Beverly) \nThe taps offer many delicious brews ranging from NE IPA’s to genuine English style cask ales\, and the kitchen cooks up tasty thin crust pizzas (available in gluten free and vegan options).

DESCRIPTION:Old Time Jam hosted by Betsy Green first Tuesday of the month\, except August is the first Sunday.\n\n\n\nCome be part of The Word Barn’s monthly old-time jam session!\n\n\n\nAll levels and all instruments are welcome.\n\n\n\nBring your banjo\, fiddle\, guitar\, mandolin – or whatever old-time acoustic instrument you have – and spend a few hours playing along with fellow musicians of all skill levels and backgrounds.\n\n\n\nHeld every third Tuesday of the month. On warm evenings\, we’ll circle up in the Meadow around the campfire; on cooler evenings\, we’ll be cozy inside The Word Barn itself.\n\n\n\nDon’t play an instrument? Come on over\, kick back\, and enjoy the tunes!\n\n\n\nFree admission for all – donations accepted. Registration requested (space is limited).\n\n\n\nAfter catching up\, sharing a pint (or two)\, and choosing a key\, the music will begin\, with a last call for tunes coming around 8:45pm.\n\n\n\nSessions are led by uber talented fiddler\, Betsy Green.\n\n\n\n**Please note and watch the calendar – Old-Time Jam session dates are subject to shift from the 3rd Tuesday as needed due to holidays and conflicts.\n\n\n\nSpecial thanks to the NH State Council on the Arts. SUMMARY:John Hartford Fiddle Tune Project
DESCRIPTION:The musical legacy of John Hartford has found a new chapter with The John Hartford Fiddle Tune Project; Mandolinist Sharon Gilchrist\, fiddle player Rachel Baiman\, and banjo/guitarist Ella Korth bring newly discovered Hartford tunes to old-time and bluegrass fans everywhere. These compositions\, found handwritten in 60 notebooks after John’s death\, were compiled in The John Hartford Mammoth Collection of Fiddle Tunes\, and recorded on the GRAMMY-nominated album\, The John Hartford Fiddle Tune Project Vol. 1\, and Vol. 2: Julia Belle. Julia Belle was co-produced by Gilchrist and released in February 2025. The John Hartford Fiddle Tune Project is passionate about sharing these tunes far and wide so that they can become part of the roots music canon for future musicians to love and enjoy.
