The Bluemoon Coffeehouse takes place under the twinkling blue lights at the parish hall of the Channing Unitarian Universalist Church in Rockland, MA. Plenty of tables/seating and great acoustics at this jewel of a venue! Equal Exchange coffee and homemade snacks also available. Tickets are $8 at the door and children under 12 enjoy free admission. There will be a few open mic slots available for the time between sets, so bring your instruments/voices along if you'd like, and share the stage with us on January 10th! Tickets: $8 at the door. Cat and the Moon Performs a Special “Friday After Thanksgiving” Show at The Blue Moon Coffeehouse

On Friday, November 27th at 7:30 p.m. (the day after Thanksgiving) the Blue Moon Coffeehouse features a special night of music with Cat and the Moon.   If you've heard the well known bluegrass band Twisted Pine, you've heard some of Cat and the Moon. The banjo player, Ricky Mier, and the fiddle player, the Kathleen Parks, are major driving forces in Cat and the Moon.  Cat and the Moon describes themselves as  a dynamic acoustic roots band with strong Celtic/bluegrass influences. They met at Boston's Berklee College of Music where two members are currently continuing their studies. They have quickly become a much sought-after group in Boston's world class Irish music scene, recently taking part in both the 2014 Boston Celtic Music Fest and The Boston Irish Festival and after parties for the St. Pats Celtic Sojourn Concert and The Boston Irish Film Festival. The band's members have won coveted awards such as Berklee's North American Tour Scholarship (a four year full scholarship) and the NH Bass Solo Competition.  Ricky Mier was the winner of the 2014 Fresh Grass Banjo Competition.  Between sets by the band, there will be an open mike.   Tickets are $10 at the door; children 12 and under are free.  The address is Channing Church, 45 Webster St. Rockland, MA. Honeysuckle, Boston Music Award Nominees for Best Folk Artist and Best Americana Artist, at The Blue Moon Coffeehouse, Saturday, Feb. 6th

Saturday, February 6th at 7:30  p.m., The Blue Moon Coffeehouse in Rockland features the progressive folk trio Honeysuckle.  Honeysuckle was recently nominated for the Boston Music Awards in two categories: Best Folk Artist and Best Americana Artist. They also played at the 2015 Newport Folk Festival as the Converse Rubber Tracks Artist winners.  Holly McGarry, Benjamin Burns and Chris Bloniarz make up Honeysuckle. They currently have two releases, "Live at Rockwood Music Hall," and their new EP, "Arrows."  They were one of the recipients of Passim’s 2015 Iguana Music Fund Grants and, with its help, they will be finishing a full length CD, which will be released at Club Passim in March.  Between sets by the band there will be an open mike.  Tickets are $10 at the door. Wide Open Spaces at The Blue Moon Coffeehouse, Rockland, MA

On April 8th at 7:30 p.m., don't miss The Blue Moon Coffeehouse's special Friday evening show featuring Mile Twelve! Mile Twelve is a fresh, hard driving young band beautifully walking the line between original and traditional bluegrass. Based in Boston, Massachusetts and fast gaining recognition for their outstanding performances throughout bluegrass and folk circles, Evan Murphy, Bronwyn Keith-Hynes, Nate Sabat and BB Bowness create captivating songs and daring instrumental pieces from diverse influences. They have performed extensively at bluegrass festivals including Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival, Ossipee Valley Music Festival, Joe Val Bluegrass Festival and Baygrass Bluegrass Festival.
