Danny Paisley and Southern Grass play powerful, unadorned, and intense traditional bluegrass. Alison Krauss calls Danny her favorite singer. His voice combines powerful range and soulful blues like no one else. He was voted International Bluegrass Music Association bluegrass singer of the year in 2016, 2020, and 2021.

Grant Gordy is a "guitar genius" according to Bluegrass Today. On mandolin is Dominick Leslie, who played with the Deadly Gentlemen, Noam Pikelny, and Hawktail, and is currently with Molly Tuttle and Golden Highway. Alex Hargreaves on fiddle has performed with Punch Brothers, Bela Fleck, Jerry Douglas, Steve Martin, Sierra Hull, and everyone else in bluegrass. He is currently a member of Billy Strings’ band. Aidan O’Donnell on bass is a member of Mr. Sun, along with Darol Anger, Grant, and Joe Walsh. He has played with Steve Kuhn and jazz guitarist Ben Monder, among many others. Grant’s brand-new album, Peripheral Visions, has received rave reviews. He is also on the cover of  Acoustic Guitar Magazine and Jazz Guitar Magazine this month!  

Five seasoned musicians from Southern New England, this bluegrass band has been receiving lots of attention and radio airplay lately. They were a 2021 IBMA Showcase band.

11-time IBMA bluegrass bass player of the year Missy Raines is touring with her new bluegrass band, Missy Raines & Allegheny. This band is a significant nod, and return, to her deep bluegrass roots. The music is traditional and hard-driving at its core, but energized with Raines’ well-known penchant for originality and innovation.   Missy Raines & Allegheny features some of the brightest young stars in bluegrass today with Tristan Scroggins on mandolin, Ellie Hakanson on fiddle, Ben Garnett on guitar, and Eli Gilbert on banjo. Their new album, Highlander, produced by Alison Brown, is scheduled for release on Compass Records in 2023.  

GuitartownCT presents bluegrass greats Joe Walsh and Grant Gordy in concert on Saturday, October 21 at 7:30 PM. The show is at Café Amici, 1640 Whitney Avenue, Hamden, CT. They bring tons of talent and years of experience at the highest levels of contemporary acoustic music, playing with David Grisman, The Gibson Brothers, and everyone in between.
