Cold Chocolate at the New Revival Coffeehouse in Stow, MA

New Revival Coffeehouse 353 Great Road, Stow, MA

Cold Chocolate is creating an exciting and unique new sound in the world of Americana. With original tunes and technical prowess, this four-piece band from Boston is rocking audiences with guitar, banjo, upright bass, percussion, and four-part harmony. "The band's approach is decidedly modern, with as much an influence from folk and swing as from hard driving bluegrass. Song topics also more reflect the urban environment in which they live than the country or rural themes that dominate so much bluegrass from southeastern artists." John Lawless, BluegrassToday.com. "There is little more I love in life than bluegrass music (Ok, maybe my wife, my cats, and my family and friends). Cold Chocolate plays a style of bluegrass that is so ridiculously good, that I guess I really love Cold Chocolate too.   Singer and guitarist, Ethan Robbins has a depth and soul to his voice that blends certain aspects of soul and blues music into their traditionally instrumented sound, creating a unique quality that makes their music far more than a couple pickers playing Bill Monroe tunes.  This is something special.  High energy, excellent harmonies, and, of course, killer picking from the group makes Cold Chocolate an experience that you won't want to miss out on." Brian Carroll, Red Line Roots. Tickets $18 at the door, $15 in advance at BrownPaperTickets.com.  Doors open at 7 p.m.

Railroad House Band at the New Revival Coffeehouse

New Revival Coffeehouse 353 Great Road, Stow, MA

Railroad House is a six piece band featuring lush 2, 3, and 4 part vocal harmony and playing a diverse blend of Americana music, from straight ahead Bluegrass to Western Swing, and beyond. “Jonathan Campbell sings with heart with a strong lead vocal, and I enjoyed the band's versatility/interchangeability of the banjo/Dobro.” - Ken Irwin, Rounder Records “Railroad House was extremely polished. I especially liked their sense of dynamics; they would save their beautiful harmonies for choruses or key emotional points in the songs. Vocal-driven tunes are where this band shines, whether plucking a couple tunes from Steve Earle!…, serving up a standard like "Blue Ridge Mountain Home," or adapting a country tune like ‘Rough Around the Edges.’ All in all, it was entertaining, diverse, and impressive.” -  DaveArchie.blogspot Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 at the door, and are available at BrownPaperTickets.com. See RailroadHouseBand.com for more information on the band.
