BBU moves ahead – to a second and third generation of leadership
We can now look back on nearly 50 years of bluegrass in the Boston area presented by the Boston Bluegrass Union. Remarkably, as the research for this capsule history began, every one of the original founders listed on the incorporation papers was still living. And we have had the opportunity to hear from them all.
In the first half of the 1980s, the BBU continued, presenting shows on a regular basis at the First Church Congregational, on occasion in the larger Paine Hall at Harvard, and other locations when the Church was unavailable. Monthly picking parties enhanced the opportunities, and the newsletters provided a full calendar of area activities.
